Matthew Axe is an award-winning Creative Director with 20+ years of experience at the creative helm of some of the world's most recognizable brands. His work is rooted in a deep understanding of consumer behavior and what motivates customers to purchase. He is known for his effortlessly chic aesthetics and commitment to flawless execution.

Matthew builds and leads cross-functional teams in large-scale assignments through all phases of design and production. He often works alongside in-house brand marketing and creatives teams, spearheading projects such as rebranding, range packaging or 360 product launch campaigns. He frequently collaborates with several freelance copywriters, as a nimble creative partnership, the perfect alternative to an advertising agency. He oversees all creative from concept to roll-out, so that everything produced is on-brand, on-brief and adheres to current best practices.

Matthew held senior roles at JCrew and Jo Malone. He was VP Creative Director of Martha Stewart Living where he oversaw the creative direction, photography and content creation of the award-winning media brand. He had the pleasure of working closely with founder Martha Stewart. 

Born in England and based in NYC, Matthew has won recognition from DNAD, Art Directors Club, the Society of Publication Designers and the American Society of Magazine Editors.

His home and garden have been featured in Remodelista and Gardenista.

Brand film - From concept to execution

As a part of the global launch of their Vitamin Nectar Collection, Fresh shot a BTS video to give consumers a window into the creative process. The video shows the creation of Matthew's 360 campaign via the photographers, videographers, beauty stylists, model-makers he worked with to produce the iconic images.
